This is how I create my linocut prints.

 

With linocutting tools carve design on a  block of linoleum, ink up printer's ink on a glass plate with a roller then ink up the carved linocut design. Place paper sheet on the inked linocut plate and holding paper in place  rub all over paper with a wooden or metal spoon--or use printing press. The design is printed in reverse.
